I am in a group study book club and we are reading this book. The process (similar to Byron Katie's "Loving What Is" book) does change you and the perception of the whole situation. I also bought the audio version which is the reason I am writing the reveiw - I would not recommend buying the audio version because it isn't the same book. Jill's story which is at the beginning of the hard cover book is missing (along with all the chapters not syncing up and being very different) and this story is a VERY important part of grasping what Tipping is trying to get you to understand. I was very disappointed that the audio was so different!Product details

Radical Forgiveness A Revolutionary FiveStage Process to Heal Relationships Let Go of Anger and Blame Find Peace in Any Situation (Audible Audio Edition) Colin Tipping Sounds True Books Reviews
The idea of radical forgiveness is, well, shall we say, radical? What it basically says it that nothing is ever wrong because nothing wrong ever happens... It's the belief that everything happens for a reason, that we are all here to experience certain emotions and experiences, and the people in our lives do the things they do as a way of helping us get those experiences..
At first it seems like a hard idea to swallow.. It's easier to be angry at the people who have hurt us, but if you really think about what he's saying, really let it sink in and allow it to be a possibility, it really does start to make sense, and can very quickly start to release you from all that anger and hurt...
Colin Tipping has a very soothing voice, which makes listening to him very comfortable. This is an easy audio book to listen to and follow, it's full of information and I believe it even contains a copy of the radical forgiveness form you can download to your computer to print out to use.. I didn't do that myself because I had already downloaded the form from the radical forgiveness website...
Some programs like this kind of leave you hanging, not really sure of how to incorporate the practice in your own life. But Colin Tipping doesn't do that. He walks you through the steps, he gives examples of how it worked in his own life and he gives a description of the different types of personalities we all have, and explains how you will probably look at this idea according to your individual personality.. The tracks of the program are recorded very nicely so you can repeat certain things as many times as you want to without having to listen to info you don't need to replay.
From what I've read, the complete Radical Forgiveness program goes much more in depth and gives actual stories of people who have turned their lives around using the program, which this Audio Book does not do.. But if you can't afford, or do not want to spend that much money on the entire Radical Forgiveness program, then this audio book will give you all the information you need to get started.
Just a warning! I also purchased the CD "Finding Peace... Guided practices for radical forgiveness" thinking it would be a companion CD to this audio book, but it is the very same exact program, so no need to purchase them both.
not sure- just started and it is hard to take my situation and turn them around like the author suggests.I may need to re read the first chapter and keep an open mind. I get parts of what he is saying but not that it is that easy to let it all go....I will keep trying.. it is a slow read and I tend to read fast! I think with slow reading and a biota groups discussions I might feel better about this book..
I read this book during a particularly horrible time in my life. Addicted to meth, leaving an abusive relationship, a failed suicide attempt, this book was given to me by a crisis counselor at the shelter where I lived with my teenage daughter. My life changed almost the moment I started to read. Learning to forgive first myself, and then the people who I had always thought were victimizing me, let me become a new person. 7 years clean, loving life, I know it all started with this book. I've loaned or given it as a gift so many times I've lost count.
I haven't finished reading this, but I was surprised that I was basically already practicing a lot of the principles and thought practices in this book. There are a few things I disagree with, but overall, the thought process it puts forth is extremely useful in helping me understand how much I have to be grateful for and to know that even the bad things will lead to something good if you are willing to be open minded about the stumbling blocks that everyone faces sooner or later.
I am astounded by his grasp of spiritual laws that so few of us really understand. His whole idea of 'radical' vs. our 'normal', historical form of forgiveness is brilliant and transformative. I do deeply believe that we are all one. Although I don't entirely agree with some of his ideas, that has absolutely no impact on the truth of his message which I do love and completely embrace. The part I do not necessarily agree with deals with pre-existence but that is unimportant in the face of his total message. The author even states that understanding and practicing 'Radical Forgiveness' does in no way depend upon agreeing with all his ideas. I resonate completely with his description of us as energy circles and how that works in regards to our health and our own spiritual development. I found the book quite life-changing and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. We are indeed on the brink of a great transformation for the better and each of us needs to become aware of our own part in it and what we can do to hasten it and to create love around us Thank you Colin Tipping for your incredible insight!
This can be a difficult book to get into -- not because of writing style or vocabulary -- but because some of the concepts go contrary to commonly accepted thought patterns. The author offers a new paradigm for dealing with emotional hurts in our lives -- one which goes beyond taking on the traditional role of victim and seeing oneself as co-creator of the situation. I have found the book most valuable in my own life and have recommended it to others.
